Perhaps one of your resolutions for 2016 is to try to keep
life simple, less is more, or to purge and declutter your life. Fantastic
idea! There is a subculture out there
that has literally embraced this way of living and have applied it to their
everyday. For years now I have been
collecting Pins of “tiny retreats” on Pinterest. I dream of a life with ease and simplicity.
Everything at your finger tips, having only what you really need, eliminate the
distraction of excess and actually put money in the bank. A calm more focused atmosphere would be
ideal. Instead of the walls feeling too
close, the freedom of a minimal environment would bring a sense of “zen.”
It would liberating to hitch up your tiny
house to the back of a truck and anchor it in a remote and scenic
landscape. The void of stuff could be
what we have been missing out on all these years. The stress of keeping a home and paying bills
to fill up, heat and maintain a large structure keeps weighing us down. A retreat could be a permanent part of our
everyday lives. We would have to decide
to let go of many of the things that we are told that we need. For a moment consider another way of life that
is emerging as a desired, viable, cost effective, trend for the way we may live
in the future.
After exploring these
clever and innovative homes you probably will start dreaming of when and where
you can have one of your own.
Here are just a few of my favorites!
