Fido Friendly Parks

Have a furry buddy sitting next to you on the couch? (I do!) Is their tail wagging and their big brown eyes longingly looking at you? (Mine is!)  Why not grab a ball or frisbee and head out the door with your pup. Your pooch needs to let loose, literally, they need to run without the tug and pull of a leash.   “No-Leash” parks have been popping up around the area catering to the primal instinct of a dogs’ need for speed!   The ability to run, romp, jump, play, socialize, and “just be a dog” is so important to your pets’ mental and physical health.  And there is another bonus - watching your buddy out there enjoying will make you happy too!
I put together a list of Fido Friendly “No-Leash” parks in the area (mainly Philly Suburbs) to help you find one not too far from your front door.
Get up and go with Fido!

Flourtown, PA…no longer a sleepy little town.

Flourtown Farmers Market (opening TODAY!)
A great little mecca is emerging from a former sleepy town.  It is just down the road from Chestnut Hill and around the corner from Plymouth Meeting. There has been quite a bit of a buzz in this petite borough that encompasses Colonial and Springfield School Districts.  Its’ “Main Street” (Bethlehem Pike) has experienced a few exciting additions lately.  The Movie Tavern is coming up from the rubble of a torn down Genaurdis Market.  A favorite local Mexican restaurant, Tamarindos, claimed an old road house as its’ new digs. The beloved Flourtown Farmers Market relocated to and renovated the old Springfield Hotel/Sorella Rose Restaurant, in a most desired spot along the pike.  In addition to the businesses popping up on the main drag a new community is planned and currently being built.  The Reserve at Creekside is a beautifully placed cluster of luxury Carriage Homes nestled between Philadelphia Cricket Club’s two premiere golf courses. Most small towns don’t see this type of growth in one year,  let alone a couple months. The town’s combination of being “right around the corner”, voted one of Philly’s Best Suburbs (according to Movoto), a low crime rate, and a state park with wooded trails and the winding Wissahickon Creek makes it a much desired suburb.
Finally, Flourtown is awake!

Sophistication – even in the Laundry Room?

Sophistication – even in the Laundry Room?
In order to have order…we must be orderly, yes, even in the Laundry Room.  It could give us the serenity, calm, and peace that we strive to maintain through the rest of our home.  Laundry rooms are usually a small enough space that we can control them pretty easily.
The famous Leonardo Da Vinci said,
“Simplicity is the Ultimate sophistication.”
When tackling that chaotic spot you call a Laundry Room where all things CLEAN originate from…really just keep it simple.
Just think of Apple and Nike's logos, are you convinced yet?

I found some before and afters for your viewing pleasure!

Note: they are simple yet sophisticated - see!?

"There's no place like HOME." - Dorothy, The Wizard of Oz

Why me, why now, why a blog, well, why not?
And quite frankly if I keep on asking so many questions
this blog will never be blogged.
Here’s where I start, I am Sharon, a “home enthusiast,” I live in one, I love them, I dream about them, I am obsessed with them, I help people buy and sell them and I love anything that has to do with creating a HOME. I came up with the brilliant decision to spread my knowledge, and with any luck, gain some.
Join me as I gather and toss around ideas, inspirations, tricks, locations and communities that I consider HOMEY. (and I mean that in the best possible way)

So, open the door, walk in, take your shoes off and stay awhile, wiggle your toes into the carpet and flop on the couch…this is your HOME!
